AI Volleyball Spike Analyzer
How hard do you really hit?
Record a single spike and VolleyVelocity uses AI to measure ball speed, contact height, and approach angle, with a Power Score — then, if you opt in, puts you on friend, team, and global leaderboards. No radar gun required.
- AI-measured ball speed, contact height, approach angle, and Power Score per hit
- Slow-motion replay and a shareable image card
- Opt-in friend, team, and global leaderboards
- Hit history with trends and your top hits
- Clips are sent for analysis only after you give consent
Train smarter, hit harder
Everything you need to measure your game and compete — straight from your phone.
AI Hit Analysis
Trim your clip and mark the contact frame, and the analyzer returns ball speed, contact height, and approach angle, plus a Power Score computed from speed and contact height.
Hit History & Trends
Every hit you save lands in your history and on a velocity chart for 7, 30, or 90 days or all time, with your top hits and a form snapshot against bundled peer benchmarks.
Friend, Team & Global Boards
Add friends with a share link, create or join a team with a code, and opt in to climb the global board by week, month, or all time.
Slow-Mo Replay
Replay the trimmed hit in slow motion — useful for breaking down approach, contact, and follow-through.
One-Tap Share
Share an image card of your result straight to Instagram, TikTok, or your team chat — no separate editor needed.
Consent Before Upload
The app asks before any clip is sent. The trimmed clip you analyze is uploaded for processing, and you can delete your data anytime.
From clip to leaderboard in seconds
Three taps stand between a phone video and a verified number.
Record
Film a spike on any phone, or import an existing clip from your library. Trim it down to the single hit you want measured.
Analyze
AI reads the trimmed clip and returns ball speed, contact height, and approach angle, plus a Power Score — with a slow-motion replay to back it up.
Compete
Your hit lands in your history and, if you opt in, on the friend, team, and global leaderboards. Share an image card of the result.

What is VolleyVelocity?
VolleyVelocity is an AI volleyball spike analyzer for iPhone and Android. You record or import a short clip of one hit, and the app estimates ball speed, contact height, and approach angle, computes a Power Score, and saves it to your hit history and, if you opt in, to friend, team, and global leaderboards. No radar gun required.
Every measured hit comes with a slow-motion replay and a shareable image card. Measurements are estimates produced by computer vision and AI, meant for training feedback and progress tracking rather than officiating or scouting.
Frequently asked questions
How does VolleyVelocity measure volleyball spike speed?
You record or import a clip and trim it down to a single hit, and the app's AI tracks the ball across the contact frames to estimate ball speed, contact height, and approach angle, and computes a Power Score from speed and contact height. Each result comes with a confidence value and a slow-motion replay.
Do I need a radar gun to measure spike speed?
No. VolleyVelocity is built as a radar-gun alternative that works from an ordinary phone video. Results can be shown in mph or km/h.
What devices does VolleyVelocity run on?
VolleyVelocity is available for iOS on the App Store and for Android on Google Play.
What does VolleyVelocity Pro include?
Your first real analysis is free. Pro unlocks unlimited hit analyses and the full friend, team, and global leaderboards, and the yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial. Pro is billed by Apple or Google. Cancel anytime from your device's subscription settings.
Does VolleyVelocity upload my videos?
The clip you choose to analyze, up to about 30 seconds and trimmed and compressed on your device, is uploaded to secure storage and sent to Google's Gemini AI service to compute your hit measurements. The app shows a notice and asks permission before anything is sent, the clip is deleted from the AI service immediately after processing, and it stays in your account storage until you delete your account.
How accurate are the spike speed results?
Measurements are estimates produced by computer vision and AI, intended for entertainment, training feedback, and progress tracking. They are not intended for officiating, medical decisions, scouting decisions, or any safety-critical use.
How do the friend, team, and global leaderboards work?
You add friends with a share link, create or join a team with a code, and, if you turn on Show on leaderboard in Privacy settings, your top hits appear on friend, team, and global boards by week, month, or all time, filtered by age group and location. You can leave a team or remove a friend at any time from inside the app.
What is the minimum age, and how do I delete my account?
VolleyVelocity requires users to be at least 13 years old. You can request deletion of your VolleyVelocity data at any time from the account deletion page, and deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
