Avebury in 3D
The great henge
Avebury, Wiltshire, England
Avebury is the largest stone circle in Britain, raised around 2600 BC inside a huge bank and ditch. A village later grew up inside it, and from the medieval period on many stones were toppled, broken up or buried. In this 3D walk you can follow the great circle, find the two inner circles, and switch to a reconstruction of the henge before its stones were lost.

How to visit in real life
Avebury is cared for by the National Trust and English Heritage. You can walk among the stones freely; the village, a museum and the manor sit inside and beside the henge. It is about 40 km north of Stonehenge, and many visitors see both in a day.
