The short version

What stays on your phone

Every prayer request (who or what it’s for, notes, the list it belongs to, any attached verse reference), every journal entry, your prayed history, your answered-prayer record, your reminders and your settings are stored in a local SQLite database on the device. You can export the whole thing to a JSON file and restore it on another phone. Deleting the App deletes all of it.

Scripture text

The complete King James Version and World English Bible texts are bundled with the App itself and read from local files on the device. Looking up or attaching a verse never touches a network.

What Knelt does not do

Shared lists (optional, Knelt Plus)

If you pair a list with another person using a six-character code, an anonymous identity is created for that list at that moment — not at install, and with no email, name or password. From then on, and only between the two of you:

What syncsWhy
The shared list’s requests — what you typed, any notes and the attached verse referenceso both phones show the same list
Prayed counts for each requestso both phones see the same prayer history for that list
Answered status for each requestso marking a shared prayer answered shows on both phones

What never syncs: your other, unshared lists; your journal; your reminders; your settings; and any list you have not explicitly turned into a shared list. A row is readable only by the members of that shared list, enforced by the database itself. Creating a shared-list code requires Knelt Plus; joining one never does. Either person can unshare a list at any time, which removes it from our backend — see Delete synced data.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play and processed through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous install id (a random UUID generated on your phone) and your purchase status so your Plus access survives a reinstall. We never see or store payment-card details.

Invite a Friend (Optional)

If you use Invite a friend, the entire payload is: your app install id, your RevenueCat customer id and the invite code. That is all that is ever sent. No email address, no contacts, no name, no device fingerprint, no location. The code exists so both sides can be granted 30 days of Knelt Plus; the install id exists so a code cannot be redeemed twice on the same phone. Nothing about your prayers, your journal or your history is involved.

Children

Knelt is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Because there is no account, most of your data is already entirely in your hands: export it, delete it, or delete the App. For a list you have shared, unshare it in the App or write to us. Where the GDPR or the CCPA applies, you have rights of access, correction, deletion and portability; we do not sell personal information and never have.

Changes & contact

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date here. Questions or requests: dev@adelyons.com.
