How to keep a prayer journal on paper

  1. Print a week first. Seven dated daily pages is enough to find out whether the layout suits you before you print a month.
  2. Write the request the way you would say it. "Ruth, chemo starting" is enough. Add the date it started, so later you can see how long you carried it.
  3. Leave the answered section for later. Come back to old pages once a week. When a prayer is answered, write how and when, even if the answer was not the one you asked for.
  4. Keep a tracker page at the front. Copy each request onto the request tracker once, so the whole year's requests and answers are on a few pages instead of spread through the journal.

More on that last step: how to keep a prayer request tracker. For a list to pray through rather than a journal to write in, use the printable prayer list.

The same journal, on your phone. Knelt is a private prayer journal and prayer list app: dated journal entries, requests added in one line, today's list walked through one prayer at a time, reminders at the time you choose, a verse attached from the bundled World English Bible, and a dated record of every answered prayer and how long you carried it. No account; it lives on your phone.

Questions

Are these prayer journal pages free?

Yes. The pages are made in your browser, with no sign-up and nothing uploaded. Print or save as many as you like.

How do I get the prayer journal as a PDF?

Press Print or save as PDF, then choose Save as PDF as the printer. Set margins to None and scale to 100%. The PDF keeps the dates and ruling you chose.

What is the A.C.T.S. prayer method?

A way of ordering a prayer: Adoration (praising God for who he is), Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication (asking, for others and yourself). The A.C.T.S. page gives each its own ruled space, with the most room for requests.

What is S.O.A.P. journaling?

A Bible journaling method: write out a Scripture passage, an Observation about it, an Application to your life, and a Prayer. The S.O.A.P. page has a section for each.

Can I print undated pages?

Yes. Under More options, tick Leave the dates blank and each page prints a date line to fill in by hand.

Which ruling should I pick?

College ruled fits more words; wide ruled is easier for large handwriting and for children. Dot grid suits lists, drawing and lettering. Blank is for people who write freely or paste in a printed verse.
