Free printable prayer cards

Type the people and needs you are carrying, one to a line. Pick a card style and how many cards a page, then print them or save a PDF. One card per request, a ruled space to add notes, and a row of boxes to tick each time you pray. Nothing you type leaves this page.

Your requests

Write Name - request or Name: request to put the name in large type. End a line with a reference in parentheses, like (Phil 4:6), to print it on the card.

How to make your prayer cards

  1. Type one request a line. A name alone is enough. Put the name first and a dash or colon after it so it prints in large type: Ruth - chemo starts this month.
  2. Pick a style. Vellum and Index card suit cream or white card stock. Vigil is dark with gold rules and uses the most ink. Plain is for a black-and-white printer.
  3. Choose the cut. 4 a page gives index-card size, 8 a page fits a wallet or a Bible cover, 2 a page is large print.
  4. Print. Press Print or save as PDF. In the print dialog set margins to None and scale to 100%, and turn on background graphics if you chose Vellum, Index card or Vigil. To save a PDF instead, choose Save as PDF as the printer.
  5. Cut along the dashed lines. Every card on a sheet is the same size, so a paper cutter or scissors along the gaps gives even cards. Card stock of 65 lb (about 175 gsm) or heavier holds up in a pocket or a Bible.

Card sizes

The sheet keeps a 0.4 inch margin for the printer and divides the rest evenly, so the cut lines are straight across the page.

Ways people use printed prayer cards

The same cards, from your phone. Knelt is a private prayer journal and prayer list app. It keeps every request, builds today's list, and reminds you at the time you choose. Knelt prints these cards straight from a list, and a small group can share one list by join code, with no accounts for members, so the week's requests are already typed when it is time to print. Questions

Are these prayer cards really free?

Yes. The tool runs entirely in your browser, there is no sign-up and nothing you type is sent anywhere. Print as many as you like.

How do I save the prayer cards as a PDF?

Press Print, then choose Save as PDF as the printer in your browser's print dialog. Set margins to None and scale to 100% so the cards keep their size.

Can I add a Bible verse to a card?

End the line with the reference in parentheses, for example Mom - knee surgery (Phil 4:6). The reference prints in italic at the foot of the card; write the verse in by hand or look it up as you pray. The Knelt app attaches the full verse text from the King James or World English Bible.

Does my printer need colour?

No. Pick Plain for a black-and-white printer, or print Vellum and Index card on cream or white card stock for the colour without the ink.

Can I print prayer cards for my small group or church?

Yes. Type one request per line, put the group's name and the date in the heading, and print a set for everyone. Private requests stay on this page; nothing is uploaded.

The cards print tiny, or the colours are missing.

In the print dialog set scale to 100% and margins to None, and turn on Background graphics (Chrome) or Print backgrounds (Safari and Firefox). Choose the same paper size here as in the dialog.
