These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Cursive Lens mobile application ("Cursive Lens", the "App"), published by Adelyons Software LLC ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Cursive Lens, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Cursive Lens on devices you own or control, for your personal or internal research use, subject to these Terms and the EULA.
The documents you photograph and the transcripts you produce are yours, and they are stored on your device. You are responsible for having the right to photograph, transcribe, and share any document you use with the App, including documents held by archives, libraries, or other people that may carry their own copyright or access conditions.
Transcription is performed by a third-party AI model (Google's Gemini, accessed through Firebase AI Logic). To transcribe a page, the image of that page is transmitted for processing and the result is returned to your device; we do not retain your images or transcripts on any server of ours. Transcripts are machine-generated and may contain errors. Historical handwriting is difficult, and the App may misread names, dates, figures, or entire passages, and may mark readable text as illegible. Transcripts and summaries are a research aid, not a certified or legal transcription, and are not legal, genealogical, or professional advice. Verify anything that matters against the original document.
Transcription requires an internet connection and depends on a third-party service. We do not guarantee that it will be available, uninterrupted, or unchanged, and we may modify or discontinue the underlying model or provider.
Cursive Lens includes a free allowance of three full transcriptions. Cursive Lens Pro unlocks unlimited transcriptions, an unlimited library, and PDF export. Pro is available as:
Because each transcription has a real processing cost, unlimited use on any plan, including Lifetime, is subject to reasonable fair use; we may apply limits to abusive or automated volumes. Purchases are billed through your Apple ID or Google account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled anytime in your device's App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Prices are shown in the App at the time of purchase and may vary by region. Except where required by law or store policy, payments are non-refundable.
You agree not to misuse Cursive Lens, including by transcribing documents you have no right to use, by presenting a machine transcript as a certified transcription, or by using the App in violation of any applicable law.
Cursive Lens is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any transcript, summary, or extracted name, place, or date will be accurate or complete.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Adelyons Software LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of Cursive Lens or from reliance on a transcript it produced.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Cursive Lens after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
