What it reads in your basketball shot
Shot Form Lab is a basketball shot tracker for form, not makes. It follows your shooting mechanics shot after shot, and each camera angle scores only what it can actually see. It never guesses an elbow angle from a view that hides it; everything else is marked not measured.
From the side
About 12 ft to the shooter’s side, level with the hips.
- Release angle: how much the arm finishes up, not forward
- Release height against the top of the head
- Legs: the knee bend and dip that power the shot
- Tempo from the dip to the release
- Follow-through hold: does the arm stay up?
From the front
Under the rim, facing the shooter.
- Shooting elbow at the set point, the L that loads the shot
- Elbow under the ball: toe, knee, elbow and wrist in one line
- Elbow flare, the chicken wing, measured
- Guide hand: does it push the ball sideways?
Why it was off, and one thing to try
A joint outside your normal turns amber on the overlay and in its row. Every fault comes with Why it was off — what that elbow, release or follow-through does to the ball — and a single Try cue for your next rep, like a basketball coach standing at the baseline.
Tap a checkpoint and the replay jumps to the frame it was judged on. Scrub it, play it, or jump to the set point and the release.
Track your shooting form against your own normal
Save your shots and Shot Form Lab builds each player’s own range. After ten shots every number is shown against that player’s band, not a pro’s. Trends shows release angle, elbow, release height, dip, tempo and follow-through over 7 days, 30 days or the season, and says plainly when a change is real and when it is just shot-to-shot wobble.
Export every shot as a CSV for a coach or a spreadsheet.
Honest over impressive
If the player is too far away, the shooting arm is hidden, or there is no shot in the clip, Shot Form Lab says so, tells you how to film it next time, and does not score it. A clip it cannot read never costs you a free analysis.
Basketball training at home or in the gym
Prop the phone on a water bottle at hip height, shoot, and read the result. It works on clips you already filmed too: upload a video from your gallery, portrait or landscape, slow motion included. Everything runs on the phone, in the driveway or on the court, with no signal needed for the read.
Built for basketball families and trainers
For youth and high school players working on a jump shot or free throws, the parent filming from the baseline, and the trainer who works with several kids. Add players with just a name and a shooting hand: no age, no email. Switch between kids in one tap. One Pro covers every player on the phone.

Privacy, in one paragraph
Your videos, the frames, the pose and every number stay on your phone. There is no account and no sign-in, and nothing about your shots is uploaded. The camera is used only to film the shot, and the microphone is never used. The app goes online only for Google Play billing through RevenueCat (with a random install id), the optional invite-a-friend code, and the card that suggests other Adelyons apps. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Questions
Does it count makes and misses?
No. Shot Form Lab is a basketball shooting form app. It reads your mechanics, not the scoreboard, and it does not run drills or sell workouts.
Where do I put the phone?
For the side view, about 12 ft to the shooter’s side, level with the hips. For the front view, under the rim facing the shooter. The app shows you both spots before your first shot.
Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
No. The read happens on the phone and the result stays there. Only billing, the invite code and the other-apps card ever go online, and none of them carry your shots.
What if the app cannot read my clip?
It tells you why and how to film the next one, and the clip does not use up a free analysis.
Can I track more than one player?
Yes, each with their own normal range. Free has one player; Pro covers every player on the phone.
Is it on the App Store?
Shot Form Lab is coming to Google Play first. There is no iPhone version yet.
