The Long Goodbye is a couple widget app for long-distance relationships, available on iPhone and Android. It puts your partner on your home screen: their local time, a "thinking of you" tap that lights up their widget, a countdown to your next reunion, and photo moments. It is not a chat app.
You pair with exactly one partner using a single-use invite link, and everything you share stays between the two of you. Presence runs on your device's time zone rather than GPS, so your partner sees whether it's your morning or your midnight without ever seeing where you are.

No. Presence is powered by your device's time zone, such as "America/Chicago", so your partner sees your local time and time of day. The app does not collect your GPS coordinates or precise location.
Is The Long Goodbye a messaging app?
No. It is a presence tool for long-distance couples: a home-screen widget, taps, reunion countdowns, and photo moments shared between two paired people. It is not a messaging, emergency, or location-tracking service, so do not rely on it for urgent communication.
How many people can I pair with?
Exactly one. The Long Goodbye pairs two people, and everything you share is visible only to you and your paired partner. There are no public feeds and no public profiles.
Who can see the photos and notes I send?
Only your paired partner. Photos live in a private storage bucket reachable only through short-lived signed URLs, and row-level security means every couple-scoped record is readable only by the two members of that couple. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Do I have to turn on notifications?
No. Notifications deliver taps, good-morning and good-night messages, reunion milestones, and moment arrivals, but they are optional and adjustable in settings.
How do I unpair or delete my account?
You can unpair from your partner or delete moments at any time from within the app. To remove everything, choose Delete account in the app's top-bar menu or email dev@adelyons.com, and your data is removed within 30 days.

- Just the two of you: Everything you share is visible only to you and your paired partner — no feeds, no third person, no public profile.
- Time zone, not GPS: Presence is powered by your time zone, not your precise location. We never track where you are.
- Secure cloud storage: Your moments and photos are stored securely in Supabase, encrypted in transit and at rest, in a private bucket.
- No ads, no data selling: We never sell your data or show ads.
- Unpair & delete anytime: You can unpair, delete shared content, or delete your entire account whenever you want.
