Afterkind is a full turn-based 4X strategy game you can play with no wifi and no account. Found cities, raise era-by-era armies, and win by Domination, Science, Culture, or Time — leading one of ten civilizations of animals, and aliens.
The classic loop — explore, expand, exploit, exterminate — finishable in a few sessions, not a lost weekend.
The complete game runs on your device with no login and no internet. Your saves are yours.
Extruded hex tiles, lit tops and shadowed sides — a tabletop model you play from above.
Found cities with settlers, improve land with workers, research Technology and Civics from Ancient to Modern.
Every map is a seed. Share it, and share a score card when you win — no server required.
Every civilization is a full species with its own units. Eight rose from the creatures we left behind; two came from elsewhere.
Each victory route is a genuinely different game.
Capture every rival capital. World domination, plainly.
Finish the tech tree and launch a vessel to the orbital ring.
Win the world's cities to your culture.
Highest score when the turn limit falls.
The complete game is free — all four victories, every era, three Kinds. We never sell power.
Unlock more civilizations once and keep them forever. Paid Kinds are balanced sidegrades, never upgrades.
An optional subscription (with a free trial): every Kind, weekly ranked leaderboards, hosted Chronicles, and cloud backup.

The complete game runs on your device with no account and no internet connection, and every map is a seed you can share so another player can play the exact same world.

Yes — the complete game is free, with all four victories, every era, and three Kinds. Additional civilizations, called Kind Packs, are one-time purchases you keep permanently. Afterkind Online is an optional subscription with a free trial that adds every Kind, weekly ranked leaderboards, hosted Chronicles, and cloud backup.
Yes. The complete game runs on your device with no login and no internet connection, and your saves are stored only on your device.
Afterkind is available on iOS from the App Store and on Android from Google Play.
No. Afterkind requires no account and no login, and the core game collects nothing — game saves, settings, and local career statistics are stored only on your device.
Afterkind has four victory routes: Domination, Science, Culture, and Time. Domination means capturing every rival capital, Science means finishing the tech tree, Culture means winning the world's cities to your culture, and Time gives the win to the highest score when the turn limit falls. Each route is a genuinely different game.
Ten Kinds are playable, each a full species with its own units. Eight rose from the creatures humanity left behind, including beavers, crows, octopuses, otters, bees, moths, fungus, and machines, and two came from elsewhere: the Saurian Compact and the Greys. Three Kinds are free: the Damwright Guilds, the Corvid Court, and the Lantern Order.
The core game collects nothing: game saves, settings, and local career statistics stay on your device and are never transmitted. Data is stored on our servers only if you subscribe to Afterkind Online and use its features, and it is tied to an anonymous device identifier rather than a personal account. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google and by our payments provider, RevenueCat, so we never see your card details.
Because there is no account, you delete your online data from inside the app, which permanently removes your leaderboard scores, rank, published Chronicles, and cloud save backups from our servers. Your local saves and career stats stay on your device. Full steps are on the data deletion page.
