Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 1, 2026
Overview
Detox My Life ("the App") is developed by Adelyons Software LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). It is a local-first home-detox companion: a ten-minute baseline of how you live becomes a Detox Score; a label photo is read by our scan service, which infers how you use the product and researches its ingredients with live sources in three evidence tiers; a plan of next swaps and a score graph live on your phone. This policy explains exactly what leaves your device, and why.
The short version: There is no account and no login. Your baseline, products, flags, plan, score history and settings are stored only on your device. Three narrow things involve a server: (1) when you scan a label, the photo is sent to our scan service, processed, and never stored; (2) purchase data is handled by Apple, Google and RevenueCat solely to validate an optional Pro purchase; (3) if you use the optional invite feature, a random installation identifier and an invite code are sent. We never receive, sell, or have access to your home's data.
Research, not medical advice. Detox My Life shows ingredient research with sources and an evidence tier (consensus, emerging, fringe) in the lens you choose. It does not diagnose, treat, or tell you to start or stop any medication, treatment, sunscreen or vaccine, and it never states that a product causes a disease in you. Fringe claims are labelled as not scientific consensus and shown with the other side. Talk to a qualified professional about your health.
Information Stored On Your Device
The following is created and stored locally on your device only, in a private database (SQLite) within the App. It is not transmitted to us:
- The baseline: Your answers to the seven-room questionnaire.
- Products: The name, brand, room, inferred use and ingredient list of each product you scanned or added by hand, and — only if you switch it on in Settings — the local copy of a label photo.
- Flags and research: The claims, evidence tiers, sources, counters and "what would have to be true" lines returned for your products, plus anything you reported as a bad source.
- The plan and history: Which swaps you did, snoozed or skipped, and every Detox Score snapshot (with the lens it was computed under).
- Settings: Your evidence lens, reminder preference and display choices.
- Backups: Any JSON export you create and share yourself.
Because this data lives only on your device, it is removed when you delete an entry, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App. The Detox Score and the plan are computed on your device by deterministic rules — no model runs on your phone, and no data is sent anywhere to compute them.
The Label Scan (Our Scan Service)
Scanning is the one feature that needs a connection. When — and only when — you scan a label, the App sends the following to our scan service (an edge function hosted on Supabase):
- The label photo, downscaled on your device. It is passed to the vision model (Google Gemini) to read the ingredient panel and infer the likely use, and then discarded. No image is retained on our servers, in our database, or in any log.
- A random installation identifier generated on your device. It is not a device or advertising ID and is not derived from you. It exists to enforce a fair-use daily scan limit.
- Your evidence lens and language, so research comes back in the right tier set and language.
- The ingredient names and inferred use for the research step. Research results are cached per ingredient and use — not per person — so the same ingredient is researched once for everyone. Nothing in the cache identifies you.
What we log: for each scan, the installation identifier, a timestamp, the product's room category, the lens, the language and a token count. That is the entire server-side record about your install, and you can delete it at any time from Settings → Delete my server data or via this page. We do not log the photo, the product name, the ingredients you scanned, or the results.
Sources are verified, and sellers are labelled. Every claim the App shows carries at least one source that our service has resolved to its publisher and checked is live. A source whose business is selling an alternative product is labelled as such, and a claim resting only on such sources is never shown. We do not accept payment from any brand, and there are no affiliate links.
No Account, No Cloud Copy of Your Home
- The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address, phone number, name, or any other identifier. There is no contacts access.
- We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or backs up your baseline, products, plan or history.
- If your device's operating system backs up app data (iCloud or Android backup you have enabled), that backup is controlled by you and your platform provider — not by us.
- You can export a JSON backup yourself at any time. Backup and restore are free and never paywalled.
Optional Purchases (Detox My Life Pro)
The App's core is free. Detox My Life Pro is an optional upgrade handled by trusted providers:
- Apple App Store / Google Play: The transaction is processed entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We never receive or store your payment-card details.
- RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to validate and restore your Pro entitlement. It receives a purchase token, the App's random installation identifier as an anonymous customer id, and basic device and purchase metadata. It does not receive your baseline, products, scans or research. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
If you never make a purchase, no purchase-related data is sent. Subscription terms are described in our Terms of Service and EULA.
Invite a Friend (Optional)
Detox My Life includes an optional invite feature: if a friend enters your invite code, you both receive 30 days of Detox My Life Pro at no charge. It is entirely optional.
When — and only when — you open the invite screen or enter a code, the App sends the following to our invite service (hosted on Supabase) so the free month can be granted through RevenueCat:
- The App's random installation identifier — not a device or advertising ID, and not derived from you.
- Your RevenueCat anonymous customer identifier, so the free month is applied to the right installation.
- The six-character invite code being created or redeemed.
That is the entire payload. It does not include anything about your home, your products or your research. We do not learn your name, email address, contacts, or location, and there is still no account. Records of invite codes and redemptions are kept only to grant the reward, to prevent abuse, and as an audit trail; email us and we will delete yours.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not store label photos, product names, ingredient lists or research results against you on any server.
- We do not require an account, email address, phone number, name, or login, and we do not request access to your contacts.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not use advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking, and we do not show ads.
- We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in the App.
- We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, and we do not take money from brands to rank or recommend products.
Data Retention & Deletion
- On your device: Delete individual products at any time, clear the App's data, or uninstall — everything local goes with it.
- On our servers: The only record keyed to your install is the scan usage log (identifier, timestamp, room category, lens, language, token count) and any invite records. Settings → Delete my server data purges the scan log immediately; the deletion page covers both by email. Research caches are keyed to ingredients, not people, and hold nothing about you.
- Purchase records: Held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat under their respective policies.
Security
Your data stays within the App's private storage on your device. Communication with our scan service, the App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat uses encrypted (TLS) connections. The scan service's database tables are locked to the service itself — no public access path exists. No system can guarantee absolute security, but keeping your home's data on-device means there is no central database of your household to breach.
Children's Privacy
Detox My Life is intended for adults managing their own household. It is not directed to children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — there is no account and the only server-side record is an anonymous installation identifier. If you believe a child's information somehow reached us, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/EEA/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to opt out of its sale. Because the App keeps your data on your device and the only server-side record is an anonymous usage log you can purge yourself, we hold nothing that identifies you. For purchase data held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat, contact those providers or reach us and we will help.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
