Privacy First — Your Dreams Stay on the Phone
Somnary is built local-first. Here's exactly how it works:
- No account, no cloud, no server. You don't sign up or log in. There is no backend that receives your dreams — nothing to leak and nothing to fail on an update or a new phone.
- Your dreams never leave the device. Dream entries, moods, tags, readings, patterns, and settings are stored only in a local database (SQLite) on your phone.
- Permanence is the promise. Somnary auto-backs-up on-device and gives you one-tap encrypted export/import (a passphrase-protected bundle) that you save and move yourself. Backup, export, and dark mode are free for everyone — never a Pro upsell.
- The Decoder is deterministic and on-device. Symbol detection, your patterns, and every reflection are rule-based on-device logic. There is no LLM, no AI model, no model download, and no network or key — identical input gives identical output, and nothing about your dream is sent anywhere.
- One billing helper. The only data that ever leaves your phone is purchase/subscription data, handled by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat to validate Somnary+. They never receive your dreams.
